DOL 2 Wheel Permit Testing

DOL Permit Testing As of January 1st, 2020 the Department of Licensing has implemented numerous changes which has added steps and expense to getting your full 2-Wheel Motorcycle endorsement. Please click on the DOL TESTING tab to better understand the process on how to get your endorsement. Currently we are at the office only during testing sessions and during scheduled classes.

Permit Knowledge Test

$60

The permit knowledge test assesses your understanding of motorcycle rules, regulations, and safe riding practices in 50 questions quiz. You must achieve 80% to pass, up to 10 questions wrong.

Permit Skill Test

$70

You’ll demonstrate basic maneuvers, including;

  •  A 5 Cone Weave & Normal Stop.
  • Right Hand Turn from a Stop & a U-Turn to Left.
  • Evasive swerve at 12-18 MPH.
  • Evasive stop at 12-18 MPH.
  • Riding through two curves to the right with speeds on the straightaway of 20 MPH. 

 You must achieve an overall passing score, up to 15 points.

Skill Test bike rental

$70

Provided only for Permit testing as convenience service.


DOL 2 Wheel Endorsement Testing

Way to obtain the endorsement and be a responsible rider.

Endorsement Knowledge Test.

$60

25 questions written test.

The endorsement knowledge test ensures that you have a comprehensive understanding of motorcycle safety and operation. You must achieve a 68% to pass, up to 6 questions wrong.

Endorsement Skill Test

$70

The endorsement skill test evaluates your riding skills at a higher level.

  • Perform an evasive quick-stop between speeds of 20-25 mph.
  • Perform a cornering maneuver, at approximately 15 mph or faster.

This is graded as a "pass or fail", 2 attempts for the quick stop, 1 attempt for the cornering maneuver.


DOL 3 Wheel Trike Testing

Due to lower demand and the limited availability of trained instructors, trike testing will not occur during every session. Please refer to our separate 3-wheel section for the dates when a qualified instructor will be available. At this time, rental 3-wheel bikes are not offered. For more detailed information on acquiring your permit or endorsement, please visit the Motopedia tab on our website.

Trike Permit Knowledge Test

$60

 To obtain your 3-wheel permit, you must pass a 25-question knowledge test. This assessment focuses on the rules and operational practices unique to 3-wheel motorcycles. You must achieve 80% to pass, up to 5 questions wrong.

Trike Endorsement Skill Test

$70

 To obtain for 3-wheel endorsement, you must have a valid permit (which may be taken the same day), and pass a skills assessment that includes four of the follow runs;

  • 4 Cone weave & cornering (Left), and normal stop.
  • Cornering (Right).
  • Evasive swerve at speeds between 12-18 MPH.
  • Evasive stop at speeds between 12-18 MPH.

You must achieve an overall passing score, up to 15 points.


Skill Programs

Providing you with solid foundation for safe riding.

Basic rider class

$325

The Basic Rider class is a two-day course held from 8 am to 4 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. It is designed for beginners who want to learn how to ride motorcycles. The class provides a solid foundation in basic motorcycle operation and street strategies.

Upon successful completion Students get their Permit and includes:

  • Permit Knowledge Test
  • Permit Skill Test
  • Permit Skill Test bike rental

Intermediate/ returning rider class with permit

$300

One day, 8 hour program. Catered to refresh/ improve skills for returning and experienced riders. Consists of classroom and practical riding. This program assumes you have experience and already have your Permit. Upon successful completion students will walk away with their DOL endorsement and includes:

  • Endorsement Knowledge Test
  • Endorsement Skill Test

Intermediate/ returning rider class without permit.

$300

Providing DOL permit testing, DOL Endorsement testing and refresh/ improve riding program all in one day. This program assumes you have experience of riding and all necessary knowledge.

Program includes:

  • Endorsement Knowledge Test
  • Endorsement Skill Test
  • Permit knowledge and skills test is an additional $130. Bike rental is $70.

One-on-One

$180

If you prefer learning without the pressure of a group, consider our One-on-One 2-hour course. This class covers basic motorcycle fundamentals such as clutch, throttle, brake operations, and straight-line riding. Please note, this course doesn’t qualify for a DOL Waiver or include testing. To arrange a private class, please contact our office.

Refresher Class

$180

This 2-hour refresher course is ideal for new riders or those looking to brush up on their skills. It covers motorcycle familiarization, basic riding fundamentals, and straight-line riding. It’s a great option to take with a friend or two. Please note, this course doesn’t qualify for a DOL Waiver or include testing. We schedule several sessions at the start of the year.

Experienced Riders / Passenger Course

Currently not being offered

This Course is designed for the couple who want to share the road experience on the same bike! Our instructors will work together with you and your passenger to develop the skills to make each ride a smooth and comfortable fun experience. Our instructors will work with you to enhance your skills in cornering, slow speed maneuvers and communication.
